June 14 – 19’s Installation

The Installation will begin at 6:30 p.m.  All of 19’s girls need to be there at 5:00 p.m. so pictures can be taken before the ceremony begins.  There will be a dance afterwards.

June 18 – Rehearsal & Owl Newspaper

Bethel 19 will have a Grand Session Rehearsal at 7:00 p.m. for all ritual & music parts.  We will also have an Owl Newspaper meeting.

June 22 – Final Rehearsal & Ted Drewes Fundraiser

This will be our final Grand Session Rehearsal before we leave on June 25th.  All girls and adults going to Grand Session need to be at this rehearsal.  Also even girls and parents who are not going to Grand Session need to attend this meeting because we will make final preparations, sign ups, and give out T-shirts for our Ted Drewes Fundraiser on July 1 – 4, 2008.  We will begin at 1:00 p.m. and finish before 5:00 p.m.  It is important that all 19 people be there.  If not, contact Mom Zimmer at 832-3861

June 25-29 – Grand Session

Grand Session is Missouri’s Job’s Daughters annual convention and will be held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO.  Girls and adults, who are going, will meet at our temple at 2:00 p.m. on June 25th to car pool to the session.  All information was sent home in a packet after Mini Session.  We will return on June 29th in the afternoon by 4:00 p.m. for parents to pick up their daughter.  Any questions, please call Mom Zimmer at 314-832-3861.

Future Events

July 1,2,3, 4 – Webster Groves Community Days (Selling Ted Drewes)

The annual Webster Groves Community Days is sponsored by the Webster Groves Lions Club on July 1-4.

Bethel 19 has a booth where we sell Ted Drewes Frozen Custard Mini Concretes (Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla).  We also take coolers on wagons through the crowds during the fireworks (all 4 nights) and we walk the parade route (with the wagons) on July 4th.  We need all girls and parents to help during these 4 days and that is why it is important to attend the meeting on June 22.  We only have a day (June 30) between Grand Session and this fundraiser event.

Days and times are as follow:

July 1, 2, & 3 – 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  July 4th we meet at the temple at 8:30 a.m. for wagon route assignments & instructions.  We need to start walking the parade route at 9:00 a.m. as the parade starts at 10:00 a.m.  If we have enough people, we have one adult and two girls walking.  You will be given a Ted Drewes T-shirt to wear.  The Bethel buys these so they need to be returned to the Bethel, and yes you do have to wear this T-shirt because that is the rule from Ted Drewes.  Any questions call Mom Z.

JULY 6, 9, & 11 – Rehearsals for Miss/Jr. Miss MO Receptions

July 6th rehearsal will be at 1:00 p.m. at our temple.  July 9th & 11th rehearsals will be at 7:00 p.m.

JULY 12 – Miss & Jr. Miss MO Receptions & Y Lock-in

Miss MO Job’s Daughter Erica Wallace (Bethel # 7) and Jr. Miss MO Job’s Daughter Brianna Hall (Bethel #19) Receptions will be held at Bethel 19, Webster Groves Masonic Temple on July 12.  The Miss MO reception will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by a dinner at 5:00 p.m.  The Jr. Miss MO reception will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Then we will have a lock-in at the Kirkwood YMCA (Adams & Taylor in Kirkwood) beginning at 9:00 p.m.  There will be swimming, volleyball, games, and snacks (and maybe some sleep).  This lock-in event is open to all the girls in Missouri, and will only cost $7.00.  Reservations are due at Grand Session.

JULY 13 – SLALOC

The St. Louis Area Line Officers’ Club (SLALOC) will have a fun day with lunch at Bethel 19 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Wear casual (Jobie appropriate) clothes for outdoor play.  If it rains, it will be indoors.

BETHEL 1’S OFFICIAL VISIT on May 3rd … by Jr. Miss MO JD Brianna Hall

Before the meeting the Supreme Ritual Team held a rehearsal for Supreme Session which went really well.  The meeting started at 4:30 p.m.  It was the fastest meeting and O.V. in history!  It went really well and lots of people were there.  The refreshments were delicious.  It was a lot of fun.

19’s PHQ’S CLUB MOTHER/DAUGHTER BANQUET on May 5th … by Jr. Miss MO JD Brianna Hall

The annual Mother/Daughter Banquet was held at Hope U.C.C. and started at 6:00 p.m.  Carolyn Kirchhoff & her mom were there, as well as Kimmy Bayer, her sister (Tracie), & their mom.  Lots of other people showed up.  The food was delicious and the games were lots of fun.  My favorite games were the purse game (based on how much stuff you have in your purse) and Rob Your Neighbor.  The gifts were great and it was wonderful to see everyone.

CONFIRMATION on May 11th … by Brittany Paglusch

Patsy Neiswander and I were confirmed on May 11th (Mother’s Day) at Hope United Church of Christ.  It was a great experience and it was in the dark.  Over all it was awesome!

SWIM PARTY on May 16th … by Melanie Grosser

I had so much fun at the swim party at the St. Peters Rec Plex.  We all loved the slide.  Mom Zimmer took pictures of us coming down the slide.  The pool was so cool.  If you were not there I feel bad because it was so fun.  Then we went to eat at Culver’s.  It was good to eat.  And it was cheep, I only had $7.00 and I had extra money left over!  It was soooo fun!

CARONDELET DEMOLAY MEETING on May 16th … by Tiffany Hudson (Sweetheart)

My mother and I went to their meeting.  We hung out with some of the mothers and dads while the boys were in their meeting.  For refreshments they had ice cream floats and cookies.  After that I went downstairs with Douglas and Ronnie to the Rec Room where we had a mad game of Ping Pong.

CYSTIC FIBROSIS WALK on May 17th … by Brittany Paglusch

On May 17th I did a walk for my cousin, Matthew, who has Cystic Fibrosis.  It was an awesome experience and our team raised over $2,000.00 for research.

SLALOC INSTALLATION on May 18th … by Tiffany Hudson

The meeting was very nice.  I enjoyed Megan McCarthy’s term very much.  Congratulations, Megan!  To Ashley, I hope you enjoy being President and have fun.  We ate before the meeting started and the food was amazing.

It was the summer of 1925 when four girls from Bethel #12 asked Mrs. Gladys Morisseau to organize a Bethel in the Clifton Heights area.  At the time, Mrs. Morisseau was Worthy Matron of Friendship Chapter #214, OES. She told them that when her term of office was over, she would look into the matter. True to her word, she did just that. Bethel #19 was instituted in May, 1928, and chartered on September 23, 1928, at Clifton Heights Masonic Temple, with forty names on the charter. Mrs. Morisseau was installed as the first Bethel Guardian, and became known as "Mother" Morisseau. "Dad Max" Loewen served as the first Associate Bethel Guardian. Mother Morisseau served as Guardian for 34 years, and Dad Max served as Associate Guardian for 22 years. No one since has served Bethel #19 longer than these two. Mother Morisseau was instrumental in forming a Drill Team, Past Honored Queens' Club, Past Honored Queens Mothers' Club, and a Majority Member's Club. The Drill Team and the Majority Member's Club are no longer in existence. In the 1980's, Bethel #19 had a Pom Pon Squad, which is no longer in existence. In December, 1934, Bethel #19 moved to Harmony Masonic Temple. After meeting on the second and fourth Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. for fifty years, the girls voted to move to the first and third Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. On October 1, 1989, Bethel #19 moved to Webster Groves Masonic Temple, and now meet there on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m.
