I know your Daughters, Council Members & Parents appreciate you and everything you do.

A special thank you to our Guardian Secretary, Mom Joleyne Nelson for all of her hard work and all of the little things you do for Bethel #33.

Enjoy your day, Ladies!

I would like to wish a "Very Happy Wedding Anniversary" to my hubby, Dennis Flanery, VAGBG, PAGG, PABG33. We've been married for 24 years today, April 21st, and been together for 27 years.

Thanks for all of the years of happiness, joy and working through our own trials & tribulations which most married couple endure. The joy of raising 3 kids--Andie, Bubba & Lilly. Which can be trying sometimes. We've hung strong.

I'm very proud of all of your accomplishments and know that you are always there if anyone needs you ... to do whatever is necessary to restore, fix, repair or sometimes just talk to or be a listening ear.

You are one of a kind ... WCA. Love ya!

With all my heart,

This note comes from Momma Donna Goede, GG, regarding a recent HIKE Presentation:

On Thursday April 17, 2008 Job’s Daughters International presented four year old Klara Haley and her family with the necessary funds to get hearing aids for Klara! Klara was born with a rare medical condition that includes profound hearing loss. Her parents were thrilled to receive the funds that will allow St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Audiology Center to fit her with hearing aids.

The members of Job’s Daughters International support the Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment Fund by raising funds in a variety of ways, but most often by holding local “hikes”. The Grand Bethel Honored Queen of Missouri, Miss Diane Lynch and the Grand Guardian of Missouri, Mrs. Donna Goede made the presentation at Bethel Number 43 of Fenton, Missouri. The members of Bethel 43 and their Honored Queen, Elaine Niemeyer assisted in the presentation. Klara, her parents and younger sister Nora as well as other family members were in attendance.

Job’s Daughters in an organization for girls between 10 and 20 years of age. The group learns leadership skills, public speaking and works for their community and many other charity causes. HIKE, Inc. is the official philanthropy for Job’s Daughters International. For more information on HIKE or Job’s Daughters please call Mom Donna Goede, Grand Guardian 636-671-8480.

This note comes from Momma Donna, GG, regarding a HIKE Presentation:

On Thursday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. we will be presenting a HIKE Award to 4 year old Haley of St. Clair, MO. The award will be presented to her and her parents and family at the Fenton Masonic Temple just before Bethel 43's regular meeting. The HQ of Bethel 43, GBHQ Diane and the trio as well as members of the HIKE Committee will be there to make the presentation! Haley's mother is very excited, as are we!

As many know the HIKE Fund has been a bit low on donations so awards have to wait until funds are available. We hope every Jobie in Missouri s collecting funds now for the Mid America HIKE coming in just a few weeks!

Please join us as we make this awesome presentation to Haley! Then stay for Bethel 43's meeting, since they have the Eastern Regional Jobie Doll that will go home that evening with another deserving Bethel!

Love, Momma Donna

This note comes from Miss Kim Underwood, SLALOC Sponsor, regarding the recent SLALOC Bowling, their next meeting and the upcoming Shrine Parade:

Congratulations go to SLALOC President Megan McCarthy on a wonderful event this past Sunday (3/30). After the SLALOC meeting 41 daughters, friends & adults bowled for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It seemed that everyone had a fantastic time and many compliments were given to me for a great event. As I told them, Megan planned all of it and she did a wonderful job. Donations were collected by $1 of each person bowling going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a jar at the main desk and Megan asking the daughters to collect individually. While Dad Vezeau and I collected the money I noticed that Bethel #4 & Bethel #12 took the extra time to gather outside donations. I thank them and apologize if I overlooked another Bethel. We will have more of a breakdown at the April Meeting.

Also at the meeting on Sunday, SLALOC choose its participants to ride on the SLALOC float. Along with the Grand Bethel Trio, Miss Missouri Trio, SLALOC Spirit Trio & Jobie-2-Bee Queen will be:

Megan McCarthy - Honored Queen
Kelly Weber - Sr. Princess
Amanda Burns - Jr. Princess
Brendalyn Burns - Guide
Kesha Nesbit - Marshal

We hope everyone will come out to St. Charles on April 26th to see these lovely ladies represent Missouri Job's Daughters in the Shrine Circus Parade. I'm sure they would love to see a huge group of Jobies to cheer them on!

The next meeting will be held at Bethel #12 on April 13th and it is elections. The officers still have chances for the quilt raffle. They are 1 for $1 and 6 for $5 and all proceeds are going to the Make-A-Wish foundation as well. Get yours soon! The drawing will be at the May 18th Installation at Bethel #43.

Thanks to all who are supporting SLALOC and I hope to see you around!

This note comes from Amanda Brown, Ruth Mary Leavitt Scholarship Committee Chairwoman, regarding some upcoming fundraisers:

Hello Missouri Jobies!

It is time once again to raise money for the Ruth Mary Leavitt scholarship fund. There are two upcoming events where we will be doing this. The first will be on April, 19th at the Grand Bethel Honored Queen reception for Diane Lynch, following Bethel 50’s Official Visit. We will be raffling off baskets by silent auction.

We also would like to have another theme basket auction at Grand Session. These baskets will be available for bidding all weekend and will be given to the highest bidder at the Sunday morning breakfast. Due to the success of the auction last year, we are again asking that each bethel donate a themed basket at Grand Session. Some good ideas for themes are: chocolate, socks, movies, BBQ, Disney and so on. Be Creative, the more unusual ones are usually what sell for the highest.

There will be a table set up near registration on Thursday at Grand Session where the baskets should be dropped off. They should be delivered to the table during the time allotted for competitions. If you will be unable to have the basket dropped off before competitions are over, please contact me before hand so other arrangements can be made.

The April 19th fundraiser will go towards scholarships to be given away this year. Money from the basket auction at Grand Session will be given at the 2009 Grand Session. Please help our girls continue with their education.

If you have any questions please contact me with the information provided below.

Thank you,
Amanda Brown
