This note comes from Momma Donna Goede, BG #43, regarding a lost Arts & Crafts Item:

One of Bethel #43's newest members made a beautiful Dream Catcher as her arts and crafts entry. It had several charms representing Job's Daughters on it. When she went to the Arts and Crafts room to pick it up, it was missing, thus she could not bring it home. Please check your Bethel's items in the event it got accidentally placed with another Bethel. If anyone finds it please contact me and I will arrange to get it back to its rightful owner.

Thanks,
Mom Donna. BG #43

This note comes from Miss Kim Underwood, BG #12, regarding a fun activity with Miss International:

If you were at Bethel #12's Installation Friday you heard me announce that Megan Semaniuk, Miss International Job's Daughter, was coming to town. Well Megan is here and she and Bethel #12 would love for whoever is available, to come play Mini-Golf on Tuesday, June 23rd. We are playing at Tower Tee, 6727 Heege Road,  Saint Louis  MO  63123.

As long as we have more than 6 people (and I'm sure we will) the cost is only $4 per person. Meet at Tower Tee's parking lot at 6:30 pm and we will get everyone split into teams. When you pay, let them know you are with Job's Daughters so they can get us all on the same discount sheet.

Afterwards we will be going to Ted Drewes on Chippewa for yummy frozen custard!

I hope some of the Jobies can join us and meet Megan!  See ya Tuesday or at Grand!

Miss Kim,
Bethel Guardian #12

This note comes from Carol Zimmer, Grand Chaplain, regarding the Bible and Necrology Ceremonies at Grand Session:

This is an update for the Bible Ceremony & Necrology Ceremony at Grand Session 2009.  There was some confusion in earlier info about these two ceremonies.  To clear that up, the Chaplains will take part in the Bible Ceremony (in regalia) and the HQs will take part in the Necrology Ceremony (in full regalia).  If your Bethel does not have a Chaplain, please ask another daughter to participate.  They will be singing Amazing Grace, which is one the songs sung after the 5th Messenger’s part in Initiation.  So make sure they know that.  If your Bethel does not have an HQ, please have a PHQ or a Princess to fill in.  They will be given instructions for both ceremonies at the rehearsal on Thursday afternoon, so check the schedules when you get to Grand.

Now for the Necrology – if your Bethel’s loved ones were listed in Shadows on the MO Web Site this past year, I do have that info.  I have received emails from Bethels 34, 12, 60, 43, 58/45, 15, and 19.  In Shadows, I have Bethels 21, 29, 33, 1, 31, 65, 56, 36, 50, 39, 47, 2, 9, 29, 45, 49, 32, 34, 33, 54, 7, 15, and 19 represented.  The e-mails and shadows cross referenced themselves, but that is good as I’d rather have it twice than miss a loved one.  Sometimes info is not submitted to Shadows, so please make sure your Bethel is included.  Some Bethels have closed therefore; we will need extra Honored Queens or Princesses to represent those Bethels.

We have 17 of our 22 active Bethels who have suffered a loss this year and 8 closed Bethels with named individuals listed.  I would like to have Honored Queens or Princesses from any active Bethel to represent these closed Bethels.  Let me know if your Honored Queen or Princesses can fill one of these positions and will bring her cape and crown with her for this ceremony.  Please let me know by Monday, June 22 if at all possible.

Thank you,

Carol Zimmer

Grand Chaplain

This note comes from Ron Zimmer, Grand Librarian, with another appeal for Ritual Judges:

After a less than spectacular response to the request for judges from the Grand Session Packet, we are still short at least five judges for ritual work next Thursday at Grand Session.

Please spread the word and consider this for yourself. Thanks to all who have already signed up. It would be very disappointing to have to cancel some competition divisions just because we could not come through as adults. After all of their practice, would you like to have that happen to your daughter?

Now I want to be flooded with e-mail and phone calls from volunteers.

This note comes from Dad Ashley Underwood, Supreme Session 2011 Co-Chair, regarding the Thursday Night Pizza Party at Grand Session:

Hey folks, we have had quite a few Bethels give us their Pizza Orders for Thursday Night at Grand Session, but there are still some that have not.  We have extended the deadline to this Friday.  Please remember this is to benefit the 2011 Supreme Session, which in turn benefits all of Missouri Job's Daughters.  As an extra attraction that evening, we will be holding a Karaoke Kontest for those who participate in the Pizza Party.  Members of Bethels that are participating in the Pizza Party may enter the Karaoke Kontest and possibly become the new "Jobie Idol."  Thanks to those Bethels that have already turned in their orders.  To those that haven't, please get them in by Friday.  Thanks to all for supporting Supreme Session 2011.

I would like to say thank you to all who contacted me regarding their e-mail information, misspelled names, etc. As well as informing me of whether you will be attending Grand Session and the Luncheon.

Invites and "Admit One" will be in the packets that will be passed out at Grand Session.

The names that appear on the Grandparents list; invite will consist of the invitation you see when you click on the link in the Grandparents page along with a business type "Admit One" card(s) that is stapled to the invite.

A reminder to all members - If you are purchasing meal tickets for the Session and have one for Saturday the 27th, you will still have to turn in the meal ticket like normal. The "Admit One" card does not take place of your meal ticket. The "Admit One" is for something totally different.

This note comes from Dad Ron Zimmer, Grand Librarian, with information regarding ritual competition at Grand Session:

Thanks to Kim Underwood, two differences in current versions of the ritual have finally been identified:  My understanding is that the printer of the most recent printing of the Ritual "corrected the grammar" at two points in the Initiation Ceremony.  On page 111 in the Honored Queen's part and on page 132 in the 5th Messenger's part, the phrase,  "And in the all the land ... and their father gave them..." now reads "...and he gave them..".

The question is how will this be handled for competition at Grand Session.  I am marking the Word Judges scoring sheet to mark either phrasing as correct.  This guidance only applies officially to the competition at Missouri's Grand Session in 2009.

Grand Librarian - Missouri

This is also a happy birthday wish to him as well as he will turn 18 on the 7th. An official adult. Doesn't seem possible. We love you very much.

I just wanted to let everyone know that after 13 years on dialysis I am getting a kidney transplant from my niece. I leave for California on July 9th, have surgery by a robot and scopes on the 10th and return home on the 16th. I matched 10 out of l1categories. My home email is jyll_harbison@sbcglobal.net. I am excited and nervous at the same time. My niece’s insurance will pay for my surgery, but I have to come up with the funds for blood work, and the anesthesiologist. This is still going to be quite a financial burden on me, but God always manages to take care of me. I just thought everyone would be interested. Please keep me in your prayers.

This note comes from Mom Joleyne Nelson, Grand Guide, regarding the Achievement Award.

Item #6 on the Achievement Award was attendance at the GB/GGC workshop 2008. Since we were not able to have it last summer, we are replacing those points with the Grand Masters Youth Day from last summer. The point value for it is:

At least 1 Line Officer attended - 1 point
At least 1 Appointed Officer attended - 1 point
At least 1 Executive Council member attended - 1 point
At least 1 Associate Council member attended - 1 point

If you have already submitted your form and attended the Grand Master Youth Day, send me an email and I will update your information.

On Item #10, Candidate Participation in Youth Recognition, if Bethel had a candidate for Moolah Shrine Princess (This would have been a Jobie-To-Bee), you may add another point to your total for that section.  Again,  if you have already submitted your form and qualify for the extra point, please e-mail me with the candidate's name and I will add a another point to your Achievement Award.

Due to these changes, the deadline for the Achievement Award has been moved back to this Friday, June 5, 2009.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Mom Joleyne Nelson
