This note comes from Mom Pam Buffalow, BG #48, regarding their upcoming Initiation:

Bethel #48 needs your help! We will likely be initiating another girl Sept. 21st 7:00pm at the Blue Springs Masonic Temple. We need protems (Marshal, 1st Messenger, 2nd Messenger, 3rd Messenger, 5th Messenger, Sr. Custodian, Jr. Custodian, and Inner Guard) please come and help if you can. We initiated a 10 yr old girl on August 17th her name is Mikayla and she gave a petition to one of her friends because she loves being a Job's Daughter so, Segrid her friend has submitted a petition and if all goes smoothly we should have no problem initiating her on Sept 21st. Any and all help will be appreciated! Please contact me Pam Buffalow at 816-352-9330 or at my email address pbuffalow@aol.com if you are able to help. We want this to be a special night for Segrid! Thank you in advance for helping us grow Job's Daughters in Missouri!

This note comes from Mom Pat McCarthy, BG #4, regarding their recent Official Visit:

To the Missouri Bethels in particularly the young ladies and adults who happily agreed to help out our Bethel (#4) this past Saturday for the first 2009-2010 Official Visit.  We are so very grateful to each of you for waking up early on a Saturday morning to spend most of your entire day inside our Bethel Room. Because of each of you we were able to have an extraordinary experience; starting with the HIKE presentation all the way through to a beautiful closing cross. Missouri Job's Daughters, both girls and adults, lived up to our state's motto: "The Show Me" state. Each of you showed everyone what a fantastic organization this is to be a part of. The true meaning of friendship, sisterhood and commitment was witnessed by all.

Bethel #4 humbly thanks you for your time, talents and generosity as was revealed by the overflowing box of school supplies donated. The families receiving these "love gifts" will be most appreciative. "Connie's Closet" will be receiving the donations.  Special acknowledgements go out to each of the following girls and adults who protemed for our Official Visit:

Outer Guard-Michelle Maevers
Inner Guard & Installing Chaplain-Brianna Hall
Sr. Custodian-Stephanie Bowlin
Recorder-Lauren Mack
1st Messenger-Amy Bush

3rd Messenger-Mary Johnson
4th Messenger-Kelly Weber
5th Messenger-Katee Leonberger

This note comes from Joy Marvin, Promoter of Youth Activities #29, regarding their next meeting:

If you aren't doing anything at 7p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, Bethel #29 is having a particularly Special Bethel Meeting!

The girls initiated a new member at their last meeting, so they get to "pie" Dad Jim.

The girl who sold the most raffle tickets for the Quilt Fundraiser is going to dye Dad Bobby's hair PURPLE and PINK!

Breonna and Chantel are back from Indiana, so we will be Installing Breonna, Breanna, & Jamie (Jacks) into a chair. I did not just make a typo. We have a Breonna and a Breanna. Also since we now have 3 Jamie's in our Bethel, Jim Kelly's daughter, "Jamie" prefers to be called "Jacks". I haven't a clue as to why, but it cuts down on confusion.

One adult will be receiving a Certificate

AND

One girl will also be receiving a very special award!

YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUR NEXT MEETING !

This note comes from Patti Bowlin, Custodian of Paraphernalia #47, with college best wishes:

This note goes out to my son Christopher and to our own PGBHQ Daniella Brand. Good luck at SEMO this year. It is amazing that this day has finally come. We are proud of both of you. 1st day was rough since we got rear ended in Cape. No one was hurt though. And let me tell you, the view from Christopher's room is the bomb-diggity. He can watch every football game from his window. He has the view right from the touchdown end. I think he may have to start charging admission to his room. It's the best seat in the house. To Daniella if you need anything at all, let me know cause I am sure I will be taking several trips down. We are always here for you.

Love,
Patti, Charlie @ Stephanie

This note comes from Michele Karmeier, GS #44, with special thanks:

I want to thank Job's Daughters of Missouri for all love and support that my family and I have received in this very sad time in our lifes. My brother shaped all of us into the people we are today. He touched so many.

Thank you to all of the girls and parents that came for the cross. Very few people at the funeral home had ever seen one and everyone commented how moving and beautiful it was.

Janice Weber, Thank you so much for playing the music at the funeral. I want everyone to know that Janice had to play for like 30+ minutes at the end for the receiving line, she played Phantom music for me that whole time and it was amazing. That is just such beautiful music.

Laurie Lenhardt and Laura Jenke, I don't know what we would have done without you today. You both made everything perfect for my family and I knew there were no worries because both of you would just take care of everything.

Most of my family has been a little unsure of Job's Daughters. All of you showed them what a great, loving family Job's Daughters is to Jen, Katie and me.

Thank you,
Michele Karmeier

This note comes from Mom Patti Brand, SLALOC Sponsor, regarding the recent Swim Party & the next meeting:

Thanks to everyone who was able to come to the SLALOC Swim Party last Sunday at Kennedy Rec Complex. Everyone got to swim from about 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. It was definitely time to head for home then, because a huge rain storm came up and caused the pool to close. The girls and adults from Bethel's 5, 19, 43, 44 and 47 all had a great time! Thanks to the adults who were there to help chaperone as Poppa John had to be at work in Chicago late that afternoon. Thanks again for coming and supporting Shelby. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Bethel #49 for the September SLALOC meeting. Come and eat pancakes and a great brunch before the meeting!

Patti Brand,
SLALOC Sponsor

My Uncle Jimmy passed away on Saturday and he was a very special part of our family. He was mentally handicapped and was the reason I chose Life Skills Foundation as my charity. I would like to ask all of you to come and participate. it would mean a lot to me. If you are unable I totally understand. If you have any questions you can call me 314-479-4669 or Laura Jenke at 314-780-2368. We will be doing it at 6:30 pm Tuesday night at JB Smith Funeral home in Fenton near Fenton Masonic Temple. Please wear your white robes. Thank you all so much.  You all mean a lot to me.

This note comes from Momma Donna Goede, Grand Bethel Guardian, regarding the RML Scholarship Recipients:

Just a reminder to the girls who were recipients of the Ruth Mary Leavitt Scholarships that Mom Karen Bohn has your funds.  You need to provide proof of your school and enrollment - a copy of your schedule would do perfectly.

Thanks,
