April, 2010 Posted Sunday, April 24, 2010 (6:00 p.m.): This note comes from Michele Karmeier, GS #44, regarding the Walk, Run & Roll and the GBHQ Reception: I want to thank everyone that came to the Walk, Run and Roll. The support my family received from Job's Daughters was overwhelming. We had over 80 people sign up through Job's Daughters. It was the best walk ever. Job's Daughters raised almost 3200.00 for a GREAT cause. I also think everyone that attended had a good time. I also want to thank everyone that attended Jen's reception. She had such a great day yesterday because of all of you!!! Posted Saturday, April 24, 2010 (12:15 p.m.): This note comes from Miss Kim Underwood, Grand Guide, regarding the Walk For Life: At the Walk For Life this morning, the Job's Daughter team, which was named "Team Jimmy Counts" in honor of GBHQ Jennifer Hallahan's late uncle and included Jobies as well as members of her family, finished in First Place with over $10,000.00 raised (about 3200 from Jobies). Congratulations to all involved. Posted Friday, April 23, 2010 (1:05 a.m.): This note comes from Jyll Harbison, PGBHQ-MO, regarding Facebook: To all those who have accepted me as friends on Facebook. My correct email is partypat45@hotmail.com.
Thank you, Please Note that the Grand Session Information Packet on the Website has been updated with Mom Pat's correct e-mail address. Posted Tuesday, April 6, 2010 (8:45 a.m.): This note comes from Mom Donna Goede, Grand Bethel Guardian, regarding CAV Status: Dear Missouri Bethels, Grand Session is going to be here soon. With Grand Session comes the election and appointment of Grand Bethel Officers, Representatives, Council and Advisory Board. Please remember to be placed in any of these positions anyone 20 years of age or older must be a Certified Adult Volunteer for Job’s Daughters International. The Job’s Daughters Board of Trustees has set August 2010 as the final cut off for every Jurisdiction in the United States. Missouri’s date was actually last August, thus all of our active Grand Bethel Members as well as any adult who accepts a position in the Grand Bethel must have been through the class and sent in the proper paperwork and have received their card. Since our Grand Bethel allows active membership for young ladies age 20-25 we need to make sure anyone wishing to continue their participation take the class and become certified. There are two classes scheduled for Missouri before Grand Session; April 17 in Fenton and May 2 in Kansas City. Information about both is on the website. There are also classes being planned in neighboring states. A person may attend any location. It will be very important for any girl age 19 or older to take the class as she must be certified when she turns 20 to continue in a Grand Bethel position. Typically the Supreme Office completes the background check and other duties quickly and the cards are sent to those who qualify within a few weeks. So after training it will be very important to get the paperwork in quickly. If a person has not received their card by Grand Session but can show evidence that it was all mailed in after the class, she may be appointed at Grand Session but would be removed in August if the card had not been received. The Supreme Website, www.iojd.org has a full listing of future classes. For those who have trained in the past and have a card, please remember to check your renewal date and get your renewal application in before your expiration date. All who currently work with the Grand Bethel are very excited about Grand Session and hope to see as many Missouri Jobies as possible. Sincerely, Posted Tuesday, April 6, 2010 (8:30 a.m.): This note comes from Mom Pam Buffalow, BG #48, regarding protems: Bethel #48 is having an open meeting on April 19th, 7:00 p.m. We are in need of protems. Please contact me if you have any girls that would be interested. If you are going to protem try to be at our Bethel as close to 6:30 p.m. as possible so we can start promptly at 7:00 p.m. I encourage you to bring any prospects you have so that they can see what Job's Daughters is all about. Our open meeting has been listed in the Examiner newspaper so I hope that we all get some new girls from it. On a side note: We are having a Jobie To Bee Ceremony on May 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. We would also like to have some protems for that meeting too. Please contact me at 816-352-9330, or by email at pbuffalow@aol.com. Stations needed for both are as follows: Guide, Marshal, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th Messengers. All protems will be put in a drawing for a nice gift. Thank you in advance for your continued support :)
Pam Buffalow, PHQ MM Posted Monday, April 5, 2010 (11:00 p.m.): This note comes from Mom Donna Goede, Grand Bethel Guardian, regarding the upcoming Grand Amaranth session: To all the Missouri Job's Daughters, but especially those in the St. Louis Area..... We want to remind everyone that the Grand Court of Amaranth is holding their annual session at the Viking Hotel in Sunset Hills (near Bethel 49) on Thursday evening. The youth have been again asked to participate in their Formal Opening. We are asking EVERY available girl to come and help make the Job's Daughter Ceremony very impressive. Please be at the hotel at 6 p.m. in your robe, HQs and Princesses--crown and capes, too! The ceremony is set to begin at 7 and should be completed before 8 p.m. GBHQ Jen has a beautiful formation planned but she needs the support of the girls, so please do your best to be there!
