This note comes from Mom Cindy Brock, PBG #29, regarding her daughter, Keva Arnold, BG #29:

Keva had surgery today for her sinuses.  We were not sure they were going to do it this morning but the benefits outweighed the bad. They were worried about an asthma attack during surgery, but luckily that did not happen. Her surgery took about 2 hours, and she went home about 1:00 p.m.  She is feeling a lot better, and has not needed any breathing treatments since the hospital.  Now to get her back to her sassy self.  The last 6 months have been very rough for her and we pray this will make her better. Thanks to all for their concern and prayers.

This note comes from Colleen Vezeau, Chairman Grandparents & Friends, regarding the club:

Everyone - I on behalf of the Grand Guardian Council, PGG Mom Joleyne & PAGG Butch Carpenter would like to thank all Members from the 2009-2010 year for signing up or renewing your membership.

PGG Joleyne Nelson gave ideas of what to give as gifts for this past year. We hope all the members who attended the luncheon this past weekend on 6-26 had a good time getting together and enjoying the time spent together to talk about your grandkids, want to be grandkids, or just catching up on old times.

It is a joy to see everyone having a good time.

The Hotel was nice enough to rope off (wall off) the area for the members to have.

There were 3 rows of tables filled with members. Not all members were in attendance and for those that were not present at the luncheon, your gifts will be on their way to you.

The members; I felt enjoyed the gifts they received. The men received keychain lights. The ones cats and dogs love to chase the light around if shown on the floor. The women received a mirror compact with a heart on top. Along with the gifts, they received a thank you card attached to their gifts. I am glad to hear and report to our PGG Joleyne and PAGG Butch that the gifts were well received.

Again thanks to all members of the 2009-2010.

Now for the 2010-2011 year. Please see the Grandparents and Friends Club page for the new Committee Member who will be helping on the Kansas City Side.

We started off to a wonderful start so far lets keep it up to help the Bethels not to have to pay Assessment Fees. All information on how to contact the committee members is listed on the Grandparents page along with how you can sign up or renew your membership.

Colleen Vezeau,
Chairman Grandparents & Friends

This note comes from Barb Hall, Guardian Treasurer #19, with some corrected directions:

Hi Missouri Jobies!

Bethel #19 will be selling Ted Drewes frozen custard at the Shakespeare Family Festival at Millennium Park in Creve Coeur this weekend. Bring your Dad and enjoy a fun family event. This is posted on the Special Events page, but we inadvertently had the wrong directions.  Below are the correct directions:

-Take 270 to Olive west
-Go to 4th stoplight (~1 mile) and make left on Barnes West Dr.
-Barnes West Drive dead ends in Millenium Park (park is behind the hospital)

The directions on the Flyer are now correct as well.

Bethel Guardians and Bee Hive Keepers:

It is time to make plans for our Jobie-To-Bee Friday morning activity. It will be in the atrium of the Capital Plaza Friday morning from 8:00 AM till 11:00 AM. We will have a sign up sheet when you drop off your Bee and we will need a cell # to reach you if we need you to come get your daughter. If there are any siblings that are not Jobies-To-Bee, an adult chaperone will need to stay with them. This is a fun time for our Bee's. Please let the Grand Marshal know how many are coming so we have enough supplies for them.

This note comes from Mom Donna Goede, Eastern HIKE Coordinator, regarding a special presentation:

We have exciting news! To end this Grand Guardian Council Year on a high note we will be presenting a five year old little girl named Kelsey with new hearing aids from HIKE!

The presentation will be Tuesday, June 15 at Bethel #50, Florrisant Missouri.  It will occur just before their Lodge meets...they are very excited to be a part of this big night.  The Lodge will have dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the Master wants everyone to know that ALL are invited to their dinner.  It is a fish fry I think!  The Presentation will follow dinner.

Any Missouri Jobies who could make it to the presentation would be welcomed. I hope some of the HIKE Daughter Committee can join Bethel #50 in this presentation. It is a casual night at the Lodge, so nice pants and tops are appropriate, but no jeans or shorts please.

To all Bethels:

I wanted to remind all of the Bethels that the information for the necrology ceremony was due to Mom Pat McCarthy on June 1st. We have extended the due date to Tuesday, June 8th.

Please send the names of deceased loved ones (and their relationship to the individual Bethel Member or Adult Leader) to:

Mom Pat McCarthy

Des Peres, MO 63131
Phone: (314-821-0292)

However a practice will be needed at Grand Session for the HQ's for the Necrology Ceremony AND for the Closing Ceremony at Formal Opening. This practice will be on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 PM. The HQ's should come dressed in their HQ regalia, as necrology ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM. Please check the session book for additional details.
