Here you will find ideas, ceremonies and forms for the many Jobie-To-Bee Hives from across the state. Hive numbers correspond with their Bethel numbers. For example Hive #12 would be the Jobies-To-Bee of Bethel #12. There are many things that can be posted, such as how is your Hive organized? What do you do at your Hive Meetings? Do the members of your Hive participate in the beginning of your Bethel Meetings? Does your Hive have officers or do you have a different Queen Bee for each meeting? Let us know how you do things at your Hive and help the other Hives get ideas. To send us your Hive Ideas, Click Here.

It is the month of November and Bethel #12 now has 4 new Jobie-To-Bees. We hold Jobie-To-Bee meetings in the dining hall at the same time as our own Bethel Meetings. They learn Jobie songs and also do crafts. It keeps them busy and anticipating the day they can come into a Bethel Meeting.

We are Bethel #1 of Kansas City, MO and we have 4 Jobies-To-Bee and 12 Jobs Daughter's at present but hope to grow soon. Our Jobies-To-Bee are learning how to sign the song "Nearer My God to Thee" and doing quite well at it.

Hello!
We just instituted a new Bethel here in Butler Pennsylvania and we already have 5 J2B members along with our 19 newly initiated daughters.
Pennsylania JD website really doesn't have too much info on the Hive groups and I'm wondering if you can give me some pointers? I've been searching the internet and found a really cute Hive Handbook produced by Cumberland, IN Bethel/Hive #67 that I plan to "steal" ideas from. But what I'm missing is the so-called Hive "ritual" work for Hive meetings. According to the Cumberland Hive Handbook, J2B members participate in a meeting that is "designed to reflect the Job's Daughters meeting, but is uniquely our very own". Is there a set guidelines that you know of? or can we "wing it"?
Also, several Hive website's I've visited mention giving the J2B members Bee pins as a reward system. Where do you find the pins? The only pins I could find were $1.24 when you ordered more than 100 of them. That's still pretty pricey since we are a new Bethel (just instituted Jan 13, 2007) and struggling to find the funds we need for necessities like robes, bibles, capes, crowns, cords, etc.
Thanks for any suggestions you can give!!

At Bethel #43's Summer meeting in August, we asked our Jobie-to-Bee's to join us. They were inside the Bethel Room for the Opening Ceremony, then I took the J2B's downstairs while the meeting was in session, and told the girls a little more about Job's Daughters, and asked them if they had any questions. Afterwords, they 'crafted' and came up with these shoes to match their sashes they received when they became J2B's. It was a great activity, because while they were creating, they could still visit and find out more about each other. They also made a pair for a J2B that wasn't able to be there, and a pair for Mom Donna and Dad Ralph, so after the meeting, they were introduced, and made their presentation. We all had a blast! Hi Dad Ashley,
I was wondering if you would post this idea I had:
I think it would be fun for the J2Bs to have a "swap" at Mini
Session. Kind of like at Supreme Session but in a more organized manner
where we set aside a short time for all the J2Bs to get together and get to know
each other while trading swaps. We could decide on whether each girl would
either make individual swaps or would participate with her hive in making hive
swaps. If we go with hive swaps they could have the Hive # and the individual
girls name (ie. Hive #19 - Brianna, Hive #19 - Annie, etc. enough for both girls
to swap one each with all of the other J2Bs from other hives). Also, we need to
have a good estimate of how many J2Bs will be attending Mini Session and we
probably need it pretty soon in order to have enough time to get the creative
juices flowing and not be rushed.
Is anyone interested? My e-mail is

Thank you,

Hi Dad Ashley!
Thanks so much for putting a little corner for the Jobie2Bee's on the website! <but you snuck it in on me, lol>
Our Bethel started our hive last Spring with just a few girls and then went into Summer break. I spent a lot of time over the summer months staying in contact with our little bee's, their parents, and prospective bee's and kept them informed of our Bethel activities. We have had such a positive response to this program and I am quite happy that now we have the opportunity to share our ideas with others throughout the state and benefit from others as well!
When the summer was over, I found out I was being put on council as DOE so i passed the "gauntlet" onto Mom Pamala Arrigal and she is quite excited about this. She and i both have daughters in the Bethel as well as in the Hive and we want things to continue to grow and prosper.
Activities we have done in the past have been done in conjunction with our Jobie big sisters. We have found that the Jobie2Bee's are extra eager to "roll up their sleeves" and get to work! They have worked at all of our fundraisers, whether it be a bar-b-que, lodge breakfast, pie supper...they work work work to help the Bethel. They have also rode in parades, participated in Bethel Installation, participated in Bible Ceremonies, etc...
Currently we have 5 Jobie2Bee's active in our hive and have initiated one into Jobies. It's an incredible way to get young girls motivated and informed about our organization, as well as their parents.
Thank you again for putting this little "corner" on the site! I hope it grows just as our Jobie2Bee program is growing!

and Mom to a Jobie2Bee:)
To answer Mom Pam's questions -- Our J2Bs come to every meeting unless our Queen Bee--Mom Perry can't be there. Sometimes there is only one Bee there but they still have a meeting.
We really haven't set age limits because all of our J2Bs are relatives of members or Council. Lilly and Tabi are the youngest. Lilly has been around the Bethel (and Job's) since she was born. Her Dad and Mom have been on Bethel Council for years and her sister, Andie, just turned 20 ... and was a J2B at age 7. Lilly became a J2B at age 5. She turns 8 years old tomorrow (12/2) and can't wait to be initiated. Even as a young Bee, she has learned the pledge, National Anthem and Bethel Flag Song and stands to sing out loud when they girls do. She also signs "Nearer My God to Thee" with the members when they do bible ceremonies. Tabi, is the cousin of our HQ Stephanie, and is the same age. Tabi's Mom and Aunt Donna were Jobies, too. Tabi comes to social activities and meetings when she can. We have two older Bees ~ Kourtney & Aleena. Kourtney is now 9 and will turn 10 in April. Her Grandma is Mom Marlene Frakes, PSG. Kourtney comes as often as she can to meetings and brings a prospect - her cousin, Sara, when she comes to activities and socials. We hope Sara joins us soon. Our 4th J2B is Aleena. Aleena will be initiated as a Jobie on Dec. 10th. Yay! Aleena's sister, Alyssa, is our 2nd Messenger and her parents are on Council.
The Bees have a great time together and Mom Perry, as Queen Bee, does an outstanding job with them. She may want the recipe for play dough. Thanks!
Our Bethel is growing and growing and soon our Bee Hive will too. Thanks for your comments, Mom Pam.

Bethel #36's HIVE That sounds great to have a J2B Appreciation Night! We have also had talk at the Bethel to have a kind of sleep over <lock-in> with the Job's and the J2B>. Currently I am working with 6, J2B's and there are petitions in the works as well!!! With the card making you have done <maybe a silly question> but who are the cards for? Also any idea's on treat's you have made in the past to share with members of the Bethel <like rice crispy treats>?
Also very glad to see that things with the HIVE have worked out so quickly! A Big Thank you from me and all our J2B's Dad Ashley!!
Bethel #33 HIVE Mom Sandy I would venture to guess you will have a lot more before you know it! How often are each of you having meetings for your J2B's? Last meeting we made some play dough and if you would like the recipe I would be happy to send it to you :) Also what age<s> or limits do you have for your J2B's?

Dear Ashley,
I have just been to the HIVE page and this sounds really neat. It sounds very exciting to have the girls participate in the opening and closing of the meeting, I think this is a great way to make them feel like they belong. Good luck with all the HIVES in 2005.

Bethel #33's HIVE is still growing. We have four (4) active J2Bs (one of which will be initiated in December and another in April). Our Queen Bee is Mom Barbara Perry, PBG. Our J2Bs assist in setting up the Bethel with the Custodians. Our Custodian of Paraphernalia has assign items for each person to bring in and set up and take down for the meetings. They participate in the opening of the meeting, wearing their J2B sashes they walk in behind our Junior Custodian and Choir Members and take seats with the Choir beside Mom Perry and our Director of Music~Mom Michele. The J2Bs say the Pledge, sing the National Anthem and the Bethel Flag song with the members, after which they walk out the preparation room door closing the door behind them over to the ante room door and close it giving a wave "good-bye". Some of our J2Bs sing louder than the daughters sometimes. =) This brings smiles to the faces of everyone in the room. The J2Bs like being in charge of closing the doors as they head down to their meeting.
Mom Perry always has fun activities for the girls with stickers, stamps, play dough, and markers -or- they play quiet games. Sometimes they watch a short movie together or they set up the refreshment table for the members and guests to have snacks after the meeting. At the end of our meeting while the Custodians are moving the chairs, the J2Bs come back in to the Bethel room to participate in the closing cross by standing in the West in an attitude of prayer and singing "Nearer My God to Thee" and marching out with the daughters arm in arm.
Our J2Bs attend all social activities and participate in fundraising with the Bethel. They love to travel and visit other Bethels that have J2B Hives, too.
Have fun with your Jobies To Bee and keep them involved ... they are your future members.
Bee Happy,

Dear Dad Ashley:
My name is Pamala Arrigal from Bethel #36. I have taken on the task of
organizing the jobie2bee's at our Bethel and would love to exchange idea's with
the other Jobie2Bee teacher/coordinators ...
It would be lovely to have a little hive on the web page we were are able to exchange idea's and craft idea's ... and it goes without saying any activities that could be Jobie2Bee events as well :)
Thus far I am compiling song lyrics and the lords prayer into the clear covered book report binders, working with the girls on proper manors while in attendance to open portions of the meetings ... and at each meeting we work on a scheduled craft! We have also established a small budget to use for mailing out reminders to parents on upcoming events for the girls, craft activities and compiling the small binders to be kept at the lodge. Also idea's such as the white slip on shoe's has come about as well as an old shirt to make a small j2b bag for the girls ... as I see it they are our future generations of Job's and have a very important role ... we are also looking to our Job's Daughter's to be mentors during events that the J2B's attend.
I would be happy to post in the future Idea's on crafts we will be working on ... For December we will be using clear colored ornaments and acrylic paint to swish around on the inside of the ornament ... they can create their very own personalize craft with little fuss or mess and still have time to do some work on songs, the pledge, and other edict matters.
I hope this has been both informative and helpful.
Sincerely, Pamala Arrigal

At Hive #12 (Bethel #12) the Jobies-To-Bee march into the Bethel room just prior to the entrance of the Bethel Guardian and Associate Bethel Guardian. The enter through the Ante Room Door and move along the marching lines completely around the room until they get to the seats in the Northwest corner of the room and then they are seated. They view the opening until the time comes for the Preparation Room door to be closed. They then have their Jobie-To-Bee meeting. During the meeting we talk about various activities going on within the Bethel and the Hive. We have different activities at various meeting such as arts and crafts, card making, cooking, etc. When the Bethel meeting is getting ready to close, the Jobies-To-Bee go back into the Bethel Room and take a position in the West where the Guide and Marshal's stations are located. Of their own accord they have started assuming the attitude of prayer during the Closing Cross. Then they go as share the social time with the Bethel Members following the meeting.
One of the really fun activities that the Hive #12 Jobies-To-Bee participated in was Bethel #12's Jobie-To-Bee Appreciation Night. Jobies-To-Bee from several Hives came and visited, and then all were honored following the Bethel Meeting. They each got goodie bags and certificates and all had a great time.
