St. Louis HIKE, September 18, 1999
The St. Louis HIKE held at Queen Park on September 18, 1999, was a tremendous success. Over $2500.00 was raised for the HIKE Fund. As an incentive, for every $250.00 that was raised, our Grand Bethel Honored Queen, Felicia Rodemacher, took a whipped cream pie in the face (Actually Mom Ruth and Dad Hudson were supposed to help, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to be there. They did, however, take some the following day at Bethel #12's Official Visit). In addition, our Grand Bethel Junior Princess, Kim Underwood, the Eastern Daughter HIKE Coordinator had challenged the girls to get $2500.00 in donations, so she also took a huge pie in the face. A great time was had by all.

The 2005 Lincoln-Truman HIKE at the Chain of Rocks Bridge was a huge success. In fact, it set a record for the L-T HIKE as it broke the $4,000.00 barrier for the first time. The total for the event was $4,102.19. It might have been even higher but for the fact that the Official Visits that Illinois had during the morning ran long and only a few Illinois girls were able to attend. Due to his daughter getting married, Missouri's AGG John Vezeau was unable to attend, and GG Phyllis Boehme was only able to be there for a short time (by the way, Congratulations Samantha Vezeau Breeding on your marriage) but the HIKE was well attended and much fun was had as the HIKE'r's walked across the old Chain of Rocks Bridge, which is now a walking and biking path spanning the mighty Mississippi River. Thanks and congratulations to all who attended, worked and brought in donations.
